Pushing On Towards Kruger National Park:

(A baobab tree felled by a recent storm: on the road from Selebi-Phikwe to the Zanzibar Border Post)
We continue to get very good use from our GPS and the Tracks4Africa software. Fueling up outside of Selebi-Phikwe we made our way easily on excellent roads to the Zanzibar Border Post on the Limpopo River. We crossed into South Africa without difficulty and made our way on good gravel roads to the paved (and excellent) R572.

(Crossing the concrete weir at the Zanzibar Border Post on the Limpopo River leaving Botswana and entering South Africa)
We have reservations at Dongola Ranch which proves to be a good alternative to nearby Mapungubwe National Park where we unable to get accommodations that fit our budget. The area is notable for its sandstone formations and is well worth a visit.
Since leaving Nata Lodge we have been eating lunch on the side of the road. We are happy to find our camp site at Dongola Ranch exceptionally clean and well equipped. It is one of those sites designed with a small, thatched-roofed structure that contains a private shower, a kitchen unit, braai area with veranda, and a soft lawn for the ground tent.
We enjoy a quiet evening -- the meal is a success and only adds to the contentment. Will is feeling better but still is concerned about his health.
